Dr. Edward Melacrek serves on the advisory board of Esprit de Competition Inc., contributing deep expertise in applied engineering science, design innovation, and environmental systems. He holds both an MSc and PhD in Engineering Science from the University of British Columbia and currently leads as Chief Design Engineer at Sono-Dyne Inc. Over a career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Melacrek has earned multiple patents across chemical processing, aerospace systems, and environmental engineering. His work has supported SBIR contracts for both the U.S. Army and Air Force, and he was awarded by Innocentive (now Wazoku) for innovation excellence.

Dr. Melacrek specializes in mechanical design, analog electronics, environmental systems, and manufacturing process optimization. His team at Sono-Dyne employs tools like Autodesk Inventor, Comsol Multi-Physics, and MapleSim to deliver cost-effective, precision-engineered solutions. He has provided successful engineering support for hydropower systems, sulfate remediation, and PFAS treatment—demonstrating a rare ability to bridge environmental challenges with mission-critical engineering.
